WRC’s 14th Annual Leadership Luncheon postponed to October 16

The Women’s Resource Center of the Delaware Valley is postponing its 14th Annual Leadership Luncheon at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia to Friday October 16, 2020 due to current health and safety concerns with the coronavirus.

The event is WRC’s biggest fundraiser of the year, raising a third of its annual revenue. Over the past 9 years the luncheon has raised more than $907,000 for nonprofit programs and services that directly impact women and girls in need. This year’s Keynote Speaker is Due Quach (pronounced ‘Zway Kwok’.) Ms. Quach is the author of Calm Clarity: How to Use Science to Rewire Your Brain for Greater Wisdom, Fulfillment and Joy, one of Fast Company’s best business books of 2018. She is also the founder and CEO of Calm Clarity, a social enterprise that uses neuroscience and mindfulness to empower people to overcome adversity and develop a mindset for growth, leadership, and resilience, and to guide organizations to address unconscious bias and build a high-performing and inclusive culture. A 2019 article in the Philadelphia Inquirer describes how mindfulness can result in better business decision making and features an interview with Ms. Quach.

WRC’s Executive Director Cheryl Brubaker comments, “In dispelling the mystery behind why mindfulness and meditation are so good for our brains, Due demonstrates through her own inspiring story how any one of us can transform our approach to the world and reach for our own potential.  Her words are relevant for everyone, regardless of circumstances.”

The WRC Leadership Luncheon will feature a silent auction, butlered hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and a luncheon as well as a speech from Ms. Quach and an award given to an honoree who has championed women’s issues successfully and made a difference.

The Crystal Tea Room is located in Philadelphia’s beautiful and historic Wanamaker Building, originally opened in 1877. The event will be catered by Finley Catering.

The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is a nonprofit whose mission is to help women and girls navigate difficult transition periods in their lives through counseling, a Helpline, a Girls Lead program, and a family law program.

Event sponsorships are available and sponsorship forms can be accessed by emailing or by purchasing directly online.  Tickets are also available. Early Bird tickets are available at $10 off the regular ticket price using the promo code FRIEND10.

WRC’s Leadership Luncheons have cumulatively raised over $907,000 for the Women’s Resource Center. Help us to help women and girls in need and to reach a milestone of $1 million this year!
