Kim Jenson, community-minded pioneer in finance, to be featured at Women’s Resource Center 2024 Breakthrough Breakfast

The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is thrilled to announce that Kim Jenson, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President, Private Client Group at Raymond James will be our featured fireside chat guest at the 2024 Breakthrough Breakfast on April 18 at the Philadelphia Country Club in Gladwyne, PA.

Among Ms. Jenson’s responsibilities at Raymond James is to prioritize solutions and services for financial advisors and clients with a focus on productivity, growth and operational excellence. She leads several internal teams, including Strategy & Planning, Investment Central, Education & Practice Management, Succession & Acquisition Planning, Sustainable Investing & Advisor Inclusion, as well as the firm’s Private Wealth initiatives.

In a recent interview with WRC, Kim shared her inspiring story of starting in the financial services industry as a young single mother on a limited income and without a college degree. From working as a secretary at a small bank in Minnesota, Kim found mentors and sponsors willing to support her on her career journey. She cites her motto, Rise by Lifting Others, as the secret sauce to her professional and personal success. She stated, “Our actions on behalf of others, no matter how small, together can multiply our impacts and change someone’s outcome…We rise all together when we lift each other up.”

Kim credits her first boss with an act of support that gave her the footing she crucially needed to rely on herself financially to meet her needs and that of her family.

A graduate of Minnesota State University, Kim has also completed programs at the Wharton School’s Securities Industry Institute (SII), the Duke Fuqua School of Business, Certified Corporate Cash Manager – Treasury Management Institute, and the Center for Creative Leadership. She holds the Series 3, 7, 9, 10, 63 and 66 industry licenses.

Kim has received multiple awards throughout her career, including the 2020 Investment News Women to Watch and the 2022 Tampa Bay Business Journal Business Woman of the Year. An active member of both local and international communities, she has served her community actively and on several Boards of Trustees of nonprofit organizations.

Kim’s personal and professional story is community minded, whether that community is in the workplace or in the public sphere. She said of her motivation that she was supported by her sphere of connections and relationships during her career journey, and wants to keep paying it forward.

Proceeds from Breakthrough Breakfast will support the Women’s Resource Center, a 49-year-old nonprofit serving women and girls facing difficult life transitions across the five-county greater Philadelphia region. Long standing WRC services include an Information & Referral Helpline (701-314-4357), Counseling, low-cost Family Law consultations, a Girls Lead program, and a Financial Stability program.

Executive Director Cheryl Brubaker said, “Kim’s life mantra to rise by lifting others is serendipitously aligned with the mission of WRC! By striving toward our goals together, we discover the best version of ourselves, ultimately creating stronger, healthier, and kinder communities.  We are honored to welcome Kim to our annual Breakthrough Breakfast and look forward to learning from her experiences.”

WRC is grateful to all of our event supporters and sponsors, notably Vision Sponsors Raymond James and The O’Connor Group. More information about the event can be found HERE. Further details about the programs of the Women’s Resource Center can be found on WRC’s main website.
