The Power of Flow: Women Engineering Change — Courage. Curiosity. Change.
Wayne, PA – The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is proud to announce Colleen Arnold, President of Aqua, as the featured speaker for the fireside chat at its 2026 Breakthrough Breakfast, The Power of Flow: Women Engineering Change.
The fireside chat will explore how women lead through complexity, adapt to change, and engineer progress across industries and communities—anchored by the theme courage, curiosity, and change.
As President of Aqua, the water and wastewater family of companies of Essential Utilities, Arnold oversees more than 1,500 regulated water and wastewater systems serving communities across eight states—Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, New Jersey, Virginia, North Carolina, and Texas. She was promoted to the role in 2020 after serving as Deputy Chief Operating Officer since 2015, bringing more than 25 years of experience in water and wastewater utility work to her leadership.
“The Power of Flow speaks to how women lead through complexity—by adapting, persevering, and creating momentum for meaningful change,” said Beth Monroe, Executive Director of the Women’s Resource Center. “Colleen Arnold’s career exemplifies this theme. Her leadership in engineering, operations, and community stewardship offers a powerful example of how courage and curiosity can drive lasting impact.”
“When women lead with courage and curiosity, we don’t just navigate change—we engineer it in ways that create lasting impact for people and communities,” said Arnold.
Arnold began her career as a consultant before transitioning into utility operations management, where she has focused on strengthening infrastructure, ensuring environmental sustainability, and supporting long-term community resilience. She has been an active member of the American Water Works Association since 1992 and currently serves on the Water Utility Council. She is also a board member of the Ridley Hospital Community Foundation. Arnold holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts–Amherst, a Master of Engineering from Manhattan College, and an Executive MBA from Villanova University.
