Contract Position “Ladies in Charge” Program Facilitator, Media PA

Reports To: Director of Program Operations

Position Summary: This is a contract position to facilitate a 90-minute psycho-educational/supportive group program for residents of a temporary emergency domestic violence shelter. Program currently runs on the first and third Wednesday evenings of each month, but may increase in frequency pending grant funding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the session using content and curricula provided by WRC

• Communicate any relevant client interactions to shelter staff

• Coordinate any scheduling changes with shelter staff and childcare providers

• Collaborate with WRC Director of Program Operations to identify and explore initial program components or interventions, using group experience and client feedback

Required Education, Skills, Experience:

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Education or related field

• Experience working with trauma victims and demonstrated trauma-informed skills

• Discretion and privacy

• Culturally-sensitive approach to the needs of each client as they face a life-changing transition

• Ability to apply tenants of CBT, positive psychology, DBT and other clinical skill sets as appropriate

• Current clearances- PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal Background Check and Federal Criminal Background Check
