About the Helpline
The heart of WRC, the Information & Referral Helpline provides connections to community resources, intake for WRC programs and services, and important data on the evolving needs of the women who reach out to WRC for assistance.
The most common calls are about legal assistance, counseling, basic needs, housing, abuse, and mental health issues.
This past year 20 volunteers answered the Helpline, contributing 3,018 hours together. They ranged from brand new volunteers to WRC to those with more than 35 years of experience.

“You took the time to talk to me and give me information. You were compassionate. You didn’t rush me or act like you’d heard all of this before. Compassion was in your voice.”
