Parenting Support at the WRCThe objective of the WRC's Single Moms Program is to support each parent so that they can in turn support their children.

Feelings of isolation and overwhelm are common to single moms, and these struggles, paired with the financial burdens of solo parenthood, can limit the opportunities available to a single mother and her family. Single motherhood is an especially vulnerable transition point that requires a comprehensive plan of support.

Women's Resource Centers recognizes the emotional, social, and financial implications of forging parenthood alone.

Our Single Moms Programs address these concerns through programs that utilize supportive interventions, connection with community resources, and skill-building in parenting and other life skills. With a focus on self-care, WRC provides education and resources to the moms who need it most.

We collaborate with other agencies to deliver this program to those most in need. Each program has a unique format and focus, based on the needs of the community it serves. All of our Single Moms programs provide family dinner to the clients, and quality childcare while the mothers attend a supportive group or workshop. Our multi-faceted interventions with the families of single moms ensure that two generations get the help they need to create a stronger future.

Topics Include: Goal Setting, Parenting Skills, Financial Management, Legal Options, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Child Development and more.
